Franklin Delano Donut... or as I like to call her—Frankie Delano Donut—is one of the most casted aside characters of Red vs Blue, by Rooster Teeth and fans alike. Well, she's my favorite character, so I'd like to change that. I've dedicated this whole page to her because I am very normal.

My Headcanon!

When I first watched RvB, in the midst of season 1 I of course thought of Donut as male. That's her canon gender and I was too early in to develop many headcanons yet.

I started to notice in the series and PSAs how Donut didn't really seem to mind being misgendered (especially by Caboose) and sometimes even embraced it. This sprouted my now favorite headcanon that Donut is a transgender woman. The way I see it, you can watch her transition and become more comfortable with herself throughout the entire series, starting with her very iconic lightish-red armor.

Unfortunately there are few people who think this headcanon is a bad thing, disregarding it as "gay erasure". I never really understood this because truthfully—Donut's sexuality has not really been confirmed. It is very obvious she is intended to be queer in some way, but not exactly said what type of queer that is. Donut being a gender non-conforming trans woman is VERY queer, and to add on top of it, I headcanon her as bisexual which is ALSO GAY.

In my opinion, this headcanon breathes a lot more life into Donut's character instead of reducing her to a stereotype meant to be the butt of the joke, at least in my mind...

I am grateful for those who are more open minded and don't needlessly bash a headcanon like this, or even adopt it. Honestly we have bigger things to worry about. Be queer!

I would never force my headcanons on other people, unlike some. It would be awesome to see more people appreciate transfem Donut but ultimately you can do whatever you want! I'd just like you to understand where I'm coming from.
